I lead IT teams and still write code. These are the areas I work in, at Fin and in my open source projects.
IT operations and leadership
- IT strategy, budgeting and vendor management for a 1,400-person company.
- Building and leading IT teams. I have run service desks, trained support teams and rebuilt a Windows engineering team.
- Service management and ITIL, with written procedures that passed ISO 9001 certification.
- Project management across infrastructure, business systems and live events.
- Compliance. SOC 2 and SOX controls for corporate IT, plus PCI-compliant payments environments.
- Incident management, from service desk escalation to major incident response.
- Employee experience. Tools that work without raising a ticket.
Infrastructure and security
My team runs a zero trust, SaaS-first environment.
- Identity and access management across corporate systems.
- Corporate security.
- Endpoint management across macOS, Windows and Linux.
- Networking, VPNs and cloud services.
- Corporate email and deliverability.
- Web, database and mail servers, and Windows engineering across test, disaster recovery and production environments, from earlier roles.
AI governance and automation
I own governance of AI use across Fin’s corporate environment, the internal tools and business systems employees work in rather than the product. That means protecting credentials, managing access controls, controlling costs and preventing shadow AI.
I lead the deployment of AI agents and tooling for employees, and the expansion of AI use beyond IT into other business units and the processes they run.

- Hands-on with AI agents, including Claude Code, OpenClaw and Codex, at work and in my open source projects.
Engineering
Languages I use include C, C#, Python, Rust, TypeScript and Go, alongside PowerShell and shell scripts.
- Linux kernel hwmon drivers and daemons in C, such as wireview-hwmon for WireView Pro II power readings.
- USB and HID device protocols, including reverse engineering vendor software with libusb.
- Desktop applications in C# with Avalonia, including the InfoPanel Linux port, and upstream USB LCD panel support for InfoPanel on Windows.
- PipeWire audio integration in openxlr, with an OpenDeck plugin for Elgato XLR interfaces.
- Go, React and Tauri in MeshManager, an Intel AMT and vPro management console.
- Python hardware control in frugalRGB, and Rust NDI streaming in lancam.
- libvirt and VFIO virtualisation, Unraid plugins, and Hugo static sites.
